Team America Honors is an integral part of LaDainian Tomlinson's Team America
platform. Team America Honors offers an opportunity to honor the best and
brightest student-athletes, educators, and coaches in the region.

This year marks the third year of the Team America Honors awards having started with the Character & Leadership Initiative for Student-Athletes. To date, more than $65,000 in
college and career scholarships have been awarded to student-athletes who otherwise had not received any tuition assistance.

2020 brought exciting expansion with new awards as we work across the Initiatives!

Reflective of the advancement of the leadership initiative into our most challenged areas within schools, including Alternative Schools, we are awarding our first Perseverance Award, given to those who have had exceptional challenges and not only overcame them but excelled as a result of the Tomlinson Center for Leadership programs in public schools.

LaDainian Tomlinson Award Presented by DAV: Throughout his career, LaDainian Tomlinson strived to epitomize the driving principles and work ethic propagated throughout our Armed Forces. Whether training with Marine Drill Instructors during his playing career or living his life by the character and leadership principles taught throughout the branches of service, LaDainian was always inspired by those who sacrificed. Now he wants to award those college football players who are similar in their coveted regard for America’s military.

The inaugural LaDainian Tomlinson Award Presented by DAV will recognize one outstanding collegiate football player (this year it will be a Texas-based collegiate football player) who (1) is actively engaged with volunteer and community engagement initiatives that serve our active duty military members or veterans and/or their families, (2) best represents the core values of DAV and Team America, and (3) whose service exemplifies the legacy of character and leadership embraced throughout his life and football career by Pro Football Hall of Fame member LaDainian Tomlinson.

A new prestigious affiliation of America’s top business executives whose personal and corporate advocacy for fostering an environment where all Americans are working and serving together in collaboration for the greater good is aligned with the positive, constructive vision of unity proliferated by Team America and focused on LaDainian’s appeal to all of us during his historic Hall of Fame speech that we stand together to determine the best way forward.

During the Tomlinson Honors broadcast, the newest members of the Purple Jacket Club will be presented with their purple jackets and one-of-a-kind gold coins representing a strong brotherhood and sisterhood who together vow to continue their work building bridges of unity for the greater good of mankind. This remarkable group could end up being the most authoritative alliance of corporate power and prestige in existence.

Based on the CEO's desires -- it could be hanging with LT at Hall of Fame weekend in Canton, spending the weekend with LT in Los Angeles at a Chargers game, having LT work with the CEO’s management team and employees on a Team America CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative, or something else that might appease our winner.
